Frequently asked questions

Sun studio is warm and cosy all winter…

It’s a new normal…..

We know many of you feel anxious before your first class…

  • Classes are open to all levels, the instructor will always give options.

  • All our teachers are compassionate and kind, we don’t have a competitive culture here so if you feel nervous or you want to chat with the teacher come a little bit early and we’ll give you time to settle in.

  • Doors open 20 minutes before the class starts, please arrive at least 5 minutes before the class start time to get settled on your mat.

  • The door is locked when the class starts and the studios are soundproofed so if you are late the teacher won’t hear you ringing the buzzer.

  • Please book online if you can, it’s great if you have your space in the class at least one hour before the class starts, we sometimes have drop-ins available but you’ll need to be at the studio at least 15 minutes before the class starts.

  • The new booking system is Momence, it’s brilliant and works just as well on a browser as on the app.

  • Bring your own mat if you like, for the sun studio, you can use our mats for free but you’ll need a towel to cover the mat for hygiene.

'I've never tried yoga before, which class should I come to?'

Which class should I come to?

Any class you like!

We welcome everyone to every class on the schedule regardless of age or experience, all of our teachers are skilled at offering modifications to sequences so you can choose the option that's right for your body at the time. For more information on how to prepare for class see here  If you're worried about being the only one in class who 'can't do it' please relax and rest assured there will be other students in the room who are also starting yoga and feel exactly the same. Some classes are about dynamic movement and stretching, and some days we need more mindfulness, relaxation and meditation, take each day as it comes…..Yoga is not a competitive sport!

What should I bring?

What do I need to bring with me?

A yoga mat and any props you use like a block or cushion, a mat towel for hot yoga some water and an open mind.

Our changing rooms and showers are open to all, we have shower gel, and you can rent a mat or shower towel for £3

It’s great to practice non-attachment in yoga & we encourage you to enter the studios without your phone, keys, handbag etc. You can leave everything in the reception area and please leave valuable items at home.

Parking?

Is there parking?

Yes, there is a car park directly behind us on Franklin Rd. It is free to use after 6 pm and on Sundays, at other times charges apply. Street parking is available outside free after 6 pm.

Hot Yoga?

How hot is your hot yoga?

The room is about 30-32 degrees, it’s warm at the start and the underfloor heating feels lovely!

The heat you generate depends on how hard you work in class, the teacher will always give choices to flow fast or gently, it’s really up to you how much you want to sweat.

Can I join from Home?

Can I practice from home?

Yes! Our Livestream classes are very popular for people staying home, you get the link when you book the class, it’s really easy to join and we are on hand to help you. The hybrid set-up means we live stream from the studio so it feels like you’re in the class, this is perfect if you can’t get out of the house in time or your babysitter lets you down… Our set-up is ace, the iPad is in front of the teacher who can see you if you’re camera is on.
